National dues have increased per scout (and per adult leader)
National dues now require an application fee for new scouts
Our regional council has implemented a new fee that never previously existed
Dues start at $175 per Scout with discounts based on how much popcorn your Scout sells. This includes National and Regional dues.
For comitting to sell $650 to $999 in popcorn, your dues will be reduced by $60. If your Scout sells over $1,000 in popcorn, dues are waived.
Nine Percent of your dues are used to provide a fall camp out where all family members are invited to attend at no additional cost. Nearly 1/4 of your dues are allocated directly for each Den to do activities, provide your Scout a 2nd Class Uniform (T-Shirt), the Pinewood Derby, and Advancement Awards. Rechartering includes costs for Boys Life, insurance, and maintaining the regional and national Scouting services (these are the new and increased fees mentioned above). Fixed expenses include recruitment items like handouts, website; technology like a laptop fund, accounting, and email fees; supporting adult volunteer fees, training, and uniforms (yes, we pay for the uniforms our volunteer leaders wear - it's the least we can do); and covering scholarships for Scouts needing financial assistance.
Pack 80's Treasurer will invoice each family directly for the total amount of dues owed, less any Popcorn discount. You can expect to see an invoice at the beginning of November, after popcorn fundraising is complete.
No. The Pack leadership determined that the cost to support a second Scout from the same family is no different than the first Scout. We have made dues the same for all Scouts
Our Regional Council is passing along some of the sales discount incentives on a per Scout basis. We've decided to adopt this approach, so individual Scouts must sell the target amount of popcorn to qualify for dues reduction.
Yes. The online registration fees go directly to the National Scout organization. Pack 80 sees none of this money. You will be invoiced directly by Pack 80's treasurer for the Pack and Region's portion of dues, less any popcorn selling discount. In future years you will only need to pay Pack 80 directly for all dues.
Each Scout is provided a Class B shirt upon registration (t-shirt). You will need to purchase the Class A uniform, patches, slide, neckerchief, belt and book for their rank, for a total of $26 to $76 (depending on the Scout's rank).
